BACKWARDS DESIGN involves planning a lesson starting with the outcomes, and moving backwards to the icebreaker. This type of planning ensures that the objectives are always what are central, and that the goals will always be met. A template for backwards design follows, with a description of what should be written in each section.
The plan is written in the order:
KUD → Lesson Objective → Perform → Practice → Present → Engage
Special Considerations and Feedback should be filled in stages for each section.
